In this family company, Wilf Burr is the founder and managing director and has been joined in the business by two
of his sons, Richard and Robert who look after the production and planning respectively. Wilf Burr's second
son, Martin, operates his own construction company and was responsible for the construction of Woodside's
large new factory on their three acre site in 1989, whilst third son, Simon, has shunned the lure of concrete
and is following a successful career in the field of computers and the hi-tech world of the Internet. Only
daughter, Elizabeth, is now at home, having presented Wilf and his wife, Janet, with a granddaughter after
spending seven years in 'IT' strategy at Sun Life. The 'Dynasty' is in good shape and can now boast not only 4 sons and a daughter they now have 4 grandsons and a granddaughter.
With such a wide variety of experience within the management of the company, Wilf Burr has many years practical experience in structural and civil engineering having been involved in a range of engineering disciplines, whilst his sons have obtained degrees in their chosen subjects to marry the theoretical side with the practical.
